The Harvest Moon Hustle was the original race of the BRIN series. A full Harvest Moon provides a perfect opportunity for a night trail run. "Fast. Flat. And in the dark," says it all! This is a very fast, flat out-and-back course that just so happens to be run at dusk! This is a favorite race for many of the runners. Oh, and did we mention it's on a Friday night & we literally give you a full BBQ meal, a Zipline Brewery beer and a live band for the same price that most races charge for some water & bagels after the race?

10K:

A Harvest Moon provides a perfect opportunity for a night trail run. The flat, fast out-and-back course will be a great opportunity to set a PR, or simply enjoy the cool night air. There are approximately five bridge crossings on the 10K course!

Runners will start and finish at the city park in Elmwood, with the majority of the course being run on the MoPac trail. A short section of country road takes runners from the canopy of trees covering the MoPac trail to the beautiful Grandpa's Woods Golf Course, where runners make a turn-around loop before heading back to town in the ever-fading sunlight.

5K:

The 'Extra Mile After-Party' will begin at 7:45 PM and is included in your race registration. This year's after-party will be at the Elmwood Fire Hall to help accommodate our growing event. The after-party includes a live band, FREE Zipline Brewery beer along with your HMH Stadium Cup, and BBQ dinner from Parker's Smokehouse!

Due to the unique nature of this event, we are asking that walkers not register for the 10K. This is mainly for your safety, as there is a 80 minute course time limit, keep in compliance with the Lower Platte South NRD rules for the use of the trail. If you do not feel you can complete the 10K in this time we strongly encourage you to register for the 5K.

Our insurance policy also requires that all strollers, dogs and even iPods be left at home. Please follow these requests for the safety of yourself and other runners on the course or you may be disqualified. Thank you for your understanding.

We also strongly encourage everyone to bring their own head lamps! Or purchase one when they register!

New for 2015, Volunteers will receive a BRIN volunteer shirt, you will also be able to accumulate points towards free race registrations and BRIN apparel. (1 hour = 10 pts. 100 pts = Free race or free item from store) Please note, times may change slightly as race day approaches. We will be in communication 1-2 weeks out from the race with more specifics. If you are registering a group of volunteers (ie water stops) please register each person at least 3 weeks prior to the event so we can assure their shirt sizes.
