Combine Veteran's Day weekend, historic Pensacola, sugar white sandy beaches, add a route atop the bluffs overlooking Escambia Bay where runners greet the sunrise and you have the perfect recipe for the 11th Annual Pensacola Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015.

The Pensacola Marathon is also a Boston Qualifier.

The race begins and ends at Pensacola's Veteran's Memorial Park on the bayfront, then winds its way along a 13.1 mile circuit of the city for the half marathoners and a full 26.2 loop for the full marathon. The course features running through historic neighborhoods, the downtown district, bands, and cheering Pensacolians. The finish line is next to the only replica of the National Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Warrior Challenge College Scholarship, Warrior Challenge Shoe Grant

The Pensacola Sports Association (PSA) is pleased to announce the Warrior Challenge will again partner with the Pensacola Marathon Presented by Publix to raise funds for their cause.

For the fourth consecutive year, five current and former Army Rangers will be running the Pensacola Marathon wearing military boots and 50 lb. The team consists of local former Army Ranger Brad King, SFC Gerald Nelson, SFC Kevin Wettschreck, and two more to be named prior to the race. They will be accepting donations through the Army Ranger Fund and have created two new programs to award the money to local military families: The Warrior Challenge Scholarship and the Warrior Challenge Shoe Grant. Their goal is
to raise enough money to award two $1,000 college scholarships to a military family student and give away 100 pairs of shoes to children of a military family. More information can be found at www.nationalrgrassociation.com/warrior-challenge/.

Participants will have the opportunity to make a donation during the registration process as well as at the two-day packet pick-up and expo held at the Crowne Plaza Pensacola Grand Hotel on Nov. 6 and 7, 2015. Both groups will have an expo booth with information and ways to accept donations.
