Operation Reinvent 5K is a special competition within the Alexandria Running Festival. Runners who sign up for this race will be competing separately from the other 5K runners. This race will have a separate start and separate awards structure. This 5K course is mostly flat except for the bridge over Telegraph Road. Race amenities include free parking at the start / finish, enthusiastic aid station volunteers, and tech shirts. The Alexandria Family Festival will be held as part of the post race activities. This festival wil be held in nearby John Carlyle Square and will include activities that honor our military service members and veterans, great food, the race award ceremonies, and fun games for kids of all ages.

OPERATION REINVENT is a movement to level the playing field for women veterans. We advocate that women veterans be treated fairly and have access to the same opportunities and resources as their male counterparts. And given the fact that many of them are single mothers, we are a proponent for recognizing and meeting their unique needs. We are a first-of-its- kind initiative designed for women veterans whose needs in transitioning from military to civilian lives exceed the scarce resources currently available. OPERATION REINVENT removes obstacles and solves problems on the way to building confidence and creating success. We give our women veterans the presence and the heightened self-esteem that comes from a professional image. And help them get the right job that puts them on a winning path. Because that first step - getting the right job - is the hardest part of their transition. The right job gives you dignity. The right job creates a \'new normal.\' The right job puts them on the path to achieve their goals.

Saturday, May 24th, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM -- Pick up your packet, enjoy our Expo and familiarize yourself with the start/finish. Browse our vendors -- get anything you need for the race on Sunday or to boost your running year-round. Meet our charity partners and learn how you can get guaranteed entries to Baltimore Running Festival and Marine Corps Marathon.

Sunday, May 25th, 6:00 AM to 7:15 AM -- Pick up your packet and enjoy pre race activities.

Timings Chips will ONLY be distrubuted on Sunday, May 25th from 6:00 AM to 7:15 AM for all runners.

Per USATF rules, scoring is based on clock time, not net time. If you expect to win an award, please seed yourself toward the front.
