The Scheels Sports & Fitness Expo kicks off race weekend with athlete packet pick-up and walk-up race registration for all athletes. The Scheels Sports & Fitness Expo also hosts the MidAmerican Energy Speaker Series featuring Jeff Galloway and his coveted 3-hour Running School.

Athletes complete the IMT Des Moines Marathon race registration process by picking up their race number/bib, athlete shirt and athlete packet.

The Scheels Sports & Fitness Expo is a family-friendly event that is free and open to the public.

The IMT Des Moines Marathon offers two days of races and the best part is that you can participate in both days.

Take part in the Mercy Live Up Loop 5 Mile Run on Saturday and combine it with your race of choice in the IMT Des Moines Marathon, IMT Des Moines Half Marathon, Bankers Trust Marathon Relay or Principal 5K Road Race on Sunday.

Participants in the 5 Mile + Combo receive a finisher medal in the Mercy Live Up Loop on Saturday and their race of choice on Sunday. Both finisher medals magnetically combine with one another to highlight your 5 Mile + Combo accomplishment in Des Moines.

Signing up for the 5 Mile Combo is simple. Look for the 5 Mile Combo race registration category during online registration to sign up for the Live Up Loop on Saturday and race of choice on Sunday.

Or, you can register at this time for your race of choice on Sunday and then come back to register later for the Live Up Loop if you should decide you want to add the Saturday race and compete both days in Des Moines.

The I-35 Challenge is a partnership between the Waddell & Reed Kansas City Marathon with Ivy Funds and the IMT Des Moines Marathon. The two events take place on the same weekend in October - Kansas City on Saturday (10/15) and Des Moines on Sunday (10/16). The goal of the challenge is to complete both races.

Participants can elect to either do BOTH marathons or BOTH half marathons or any combination of marathon and half marathon in the same weekend to receive an I-35 Challenge shirt and finisher medal worthy of their accomplishment. Two cities. Two Races. 190 miles. One great weekend.

Register as you normally would for the IMT Des Moines Marathon and then register for the Waddell & Reed Kansas City Marathon. Finally, register for the I-35 Challenge. Registration for the I-35 is Sold Out!
