2019 Pirate Fun Run to Benefit Christian Sanchez

Christian Sanchez is a 15 year old soon to be sophomore that attends Charlestown High School. In November, he was diagnosed with a tumor in his left frontal lobe that has spread through the boney part of skull and down into his maxillary sinus cavity. This tumor has caused him to suffer with epilepsy among other serious health and cognitive issues that affect his everyday life. He has been through numerous hospital stays, scans and procedures. He is currently facing a major brain operation that will most likely require multiple facial reconstructive surgeries due to the location. His physician team is still working to figure out what type of tumor this is so they can decide the safest surgical option.

The Pirate Fun Run 5K & Kiddie Run was established in 2013 as a race to benefit Sarah Booth, a student at Charlestown High School who suffers from congenital kidney disease and who underwent a kidney transplant in December of 2012. This event is a collaborative effort between all four Charlestown schools (in conjunction with Rachel's Challenge) and local businesses.

Only those registered by AUGUST 8th are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt; all others, while supplies last.

Bib/Shirt Pick-up and Race Day registration available from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. @ CHS, Sat., Aug. 17th.

Kiddie Races - $10

Trophies awarded to overall fastest male/female, 5K only.

Medals to the fastest male/female runner of each age group (see below; overall winners excluded from age group awards). Walkers welcome!
